Popular Bookstagram Myths That You Need To Avoid

In this blog, I have listed I’d some ways that might help you get around perceived Bookstagram myths and buck the trend. I've read so many posts about why it’s tough to grow as a bookstagrammer. If you're someone who just created a Bookstagram Account then you need to ignore these popular myths. 1. As long as you have a fairly recent camera phone that can take decent pictures, you're good to go. You can always enhance them through various apps. You really don't need to invest in expensive equipments to take bookish pictures.  2. This was a wild one. It was thrilling, atmospheric and genuinely creepy. It had my heart racing at more than one moment. It's a true murder mystery, with some amazing twists and turns that kept me hooked.  In this book, we follow a young girl named Carly, who is on a mission to find out what happened to her aunt, Vivian, in 1982, at the Sun Down Motel, from where, she suddenly disappeared one night without leaving a trace. Now Carly is back at the same place and she unravels some dark secrets. Will she be able to find out what happened to Vivian? I loved the dual timeline. It was amazing! I think what made this book so special was the feelings it gave me. The creepy, chills down my spine- feelings I had the ent

On the one hand its a very atmospheric thriller with some great description and good dramatic tension. On the other its a not so brilliantly executed mystery with one of the most inept investigators I've ever seen who spends most of the book having her job mansplained to her by her incredibly horrible brother and significant other. Le Sommet has always been a sinister place. Long plagued by troubling rumors, the former abandoned sanatorium has since been renovated into a five-star minimalist hotel. But Elin’s taken time off from her job as a detective, so when her estranged brother, Isaac, and his fiancΓ©e, Laure, invite her to celebrate their engagement at the hotel, Elin really has no reason not to accept. Arriving in the midst of a threatening storm, Elin immediately decided there’s something about the hotel that makes her nervous. Th

Book Review - No Exit by Taylor Adams

Looking for an amazing thriller with a great plot and some mind-blowing twists? Stop right here! No exit by Taylor Adams is the real deal! A brilliant, edgy thriller about four strangers, a blizzard, a kidnapped child, and a determined young woman desperate to unmask and outwit a vicious psychopath. No exit is what I want in a thriller: brilliantly crafted, suspenseful with some mind-blowing twists. I absolutely loved this book! I  With a gripping plot and moments of trepidation that will send chills down your spine, this book is packed with thrill. I was continuously anticipating what's going to happen next but there were things which I never saw coming. It was brilliant. Also, the protagonist was really brave, who showed immense courage and bravery in the story. Trust me you don't want to be in her situation ever! Haha! I can't recommend this book enough. If you are a fan of Thrillers/Mystery then this book is definitely for you!

My Rating - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 Holy smokes!! I.LOVED.THIS.BOOK!! This is a true thriller in the sense of the word - it’s thrilling with understated suspense and it creeped me out in the best way possible. I was hooked from the beginning and just couldn't stop reading until I found out what happened at the end. I loved the plot. It was creepy and mysterious, the writing was engaging and full of twists and turns, the theories that I had, were all wrong by the way! I think the best kind of stories are those that can scare you silly without any violence. And that is exactly what you will find here. Some might argue, that the pace is slow, but I thought it was perfect. Fifteen years ago, summer camper Emma Davis watched sleepily as her three cabin mates snuck out of their cabin in the dead of night. The last she and anyone saw of them was Vivian closing

Book Review - Confess by Collen Hoover

I absolutely loved the concept of anonymous confessions, submitted by the readers and transforming them into art work. I thought it was brilliant. Coho has a knack of infusing something unique to her books from poetry, to songs, to plot twist. In this book, it was art. It was quite unique. They were the best part of the book for me. Unfortunately, the rest left me feeling underwhelmed. As with most Collen Hoover's books, the pace was good! But I felt there was something missing, it lacked the depth for me. I have no problem with cliches or whatever as long as I am able to relate to the characters. Sadly, Owen and Auburn left me cold. I couldn't find anything remotely interesting about them. Owen, in particular I found myself conflicted with. But I did love him in the end. Auburn was a sweet girl, I somew

I liked this book but I didn't love it. It was gripping, suspenseful and fascinating but it wasn't anything that I haven't read before. The pace was a bit slow for my liking. I liked how the story moved back and forth between the past and the present but there were things which were irrelevant to the main plot and could've been avoided. In Shiver, we travel to the French Alps, where a group of friends are arriving for a reunion. Ten years ago, the group met while training for a snowboarding competition. That fateful winter, things took a tragic turn, and one of their own went missing. The reunion turns deadly when five friends discover someone has deliberately stranded them in a deserted mountaintop resort. I really liked the mystery, and th

Two individuals with damaged personalities and tragic pasts coming together, understanding and appreciating each other and ultimately falling in love. It was so pure. I sometimes wonder how she comes with such thoughtful concepts. In this book, you follow the life of a young girl, Beyah, who lives in Kentucky, from destitution, loneliness to starvation, she has been through a lot. When her mother dies, she has no choice but to move to her father's house, in Texas, at first she resists her new family and her neighbour, Samson, who hides behind his camera with his secrets and mysteries but it’s on the beach that Beyah learns what it’s like to trust, to love, and be loved, not just with Samson, but with a family she never expected. As with all of Colleen Hoover’s books, the writing is solid and the character development is amazing. The characters were
