Book Review - Confess by Collen Hoover

I failed to connect with this book. I absolutely loved the concept of anonymous confessions, submitted by the readers and transforming them into art work. I thought it was brilliant. Coho has a knack of infusing something unique to her books from poetry, to songs, to plot twist. In this book, it was art. It was quite unique. They were the best part of the book for me. Unfortunately, the rest left me feeling underwhelmed.

As with most Collen Hoover's books, the pace was good! But I felt there was something missing, it lacked the depth for me. I have no problem with cliches or whatever as long as I am able to relate to the characters. Sadly, Owen and Auburn left me cold. I couldn't find anything remotely interesting about them. Owen, in particular I found myself conflicted with. But I did love him in the end. Auburn was a sweet girl, I somewhat felt for her but I Her situation wasn't an easy one for sure. But I wasn't impressed with the fact that she only grew a backbone AFTER she met Owen.

Fortunately in true Coho style the ending connects all areas of the plot and gifts a good sweet story in it's completion.
