Holy smokes!! I.LOVED.THIS.BOOK!! This is a true thriller in the sense of the word - it’s thrilling with understated suspense and it creeped me out in the best way possible. I was hooked from the beginning and just couldn't stop reading until I found out what happened at the end. I loved the plot. It was creepy and mysterious, the writing was engaging and full of twists and turns, the theories that I had, were all wrong by the way! I think the best kind of stories are those that can scare you silly without any violence. And that is exactly what you will find here. Some might argue, that the pace is slow, but I thought it was perfect.
Fifteen years ago, summer camper Emma Davis watched sleepily as her three cabin mates snuck out of their cabin in the dead of night. The last she and anyone saw of them was Vivian closing the cabin door behind her, hushing Emma with a finger pressed to her lips. Now a rising star in the NYC art scene, Emma turns her past into paintings.. They catch the attention of Francesca White, the socialite, wealthy owner of the very same Camp Nightingale and when she implores Emma to return to the camp as a painting counselor, Emma sees an opportunity to find closure and move on.Yet it is immediately clear that all is not right at Camp Nightingale.
If it's not evident enough, I absolutely loved this book. If you love Thrillers and you haven't read this book, trust me, you're missing out. It is easily one of the best thriller I have read so far, this year. Though, there is one teensy tiny detail of the conclusion that I have a question about and I need to discuss further. Riley Sager, shoot me an email so we can discuss! Haha!
