You guys! This was my fourth Collen Hoover book and I've come to the realisation that once you start reading her books, you JUST CAN'T STOP!. No matter, how flawed the characters are and no matter how weird and predictable the plot is, nothing can stop you. Her writing is honestly so engaging that it just pulls you right in.
Regretting You follows mother/daughter duo Morgan and Clara. Morgan had Clara when she was only 17, and put her dreams on hold to raise her daughter. The two love each other, but often clash due to their strong personalities. It delves into the complex relationship between a parent and a child, the challenges of growing up and seeking independence, and how to move on after tragedy.
The reason I gave this book 3.5 stars is firstly because of Clara, the daughter. I'll be honest, I understand she was a teenager but at times, I felt she was really annoying and overly frustrating. Secondly, I was not a huge fan of the plot, it was truely messed up coz they all ended up with the wrong person which was really sad and tragic. It was also predictable but it still took me off guard, at one specific point, when the tragedy happened, it was full of hard truths. I loved Miller's relationship with his grandpa, it was a breath of fresh air in the otherwise sad circumstances. Infact, I loved all the supporting characters.
Overall, it was a decent read. It was not as good as I thought it would be but I liked it.
